Like many artists, I was reluctant to ask for money. It still feels really weird. But in the face of the digital revolution and all the big production houses firing people, it’s time that filmmakers realize we’ve arrived in a new age.
Maybe film should be free. Maybe all art should be free. But for creators to keep creating, we need the support of people who enjoy our work. Who feel like they have received something from us through it, and would like to show their appreciation.
